Four of the Presbyterian Churches in the Kannapolis mini-cluster are joining together for a time of worship and fellowship. This special Joint Ash Wednesday Service will include the imposition of ashes, the Covenant choir will sing, and Rev. Baker will be our preacher.
The participating churches are Bethpage-Concord, Bethpage-Kannapolis, Covenant-Kannapolis and Latino Ministries. The service will be a mixture of Latino, African and Euro-American culture.

Come, one, come all. Come young and old.
Come and join us as we enter
into the Lenten season together as Christ's church.

All churches will contribute goodies to share
after the service in the fellowship hall.

Lenten Sermon Series
(Sunday Morning Worship Services at 8:30 & 11:00)

This season begins with Ash Wednesday and continues for forty days and six Sundays prior to Easter Day. Lent is not just about giving up something, but taking something on. [Lent comes from the Old English "lencten" meaning "the lengthening" of the days of Spring.]

This Lenten season we will explore the value and place of spiritual disciplines in our daily lives.

March 1 - First Sunday of Lent
"Perils of Discipleship"
Psalm 25:1-10 and Mark 1:9-15

March 8 - Second Sunday of Lent
"Space for a Surprising God"
Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16 and Romans 4:13-25

March 15 - Third Sunday of Lent
"Spare the Rod"
Exodus 20:1-17 and Psalm 19

March 22 - Fourth Sunday of Lent
"Salvation on a Stick"
Numbers 21:4-9 and John 3:14-21

March 29 - Fifth Sunday of Lent
"Take It to the Bank"
Jeremiah 31:31-34 and John 12:20-33

	Our Christian journey through Holy Week is an extremely important one for those who want to enrich their spirituality and come to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
		Palm/ Passion Sunday - April 5 8:30 and 11:00 AM Worship Services with the Processional of the Palms in the Church Sanctuary "Palm to Passion" Mark 11:1-11 and Mark 14:1-16 Congregational Covered-Dish Lunch following the 11:00 AM Worship Service in the Church Fellowship Hall Egg Hunt Our annual Egg Hunt for the children of our community will be held at 1:00 PM.
	Maundy Thursday April 9 7:00 PM Service in the Fellowship Hall "Christian Seder/Communion" Exodus 12:1-14, First Corinthians 11:23-26 and Mark 14:17-31
		Good Friday - April 10 7:00 PM in the Church Sanctuary "Passion Narrative" Isaiah 52:13-53:12 and Mark 14:32-15:47
	Easter Sunday - April 12 Easter Sunrise Service at 6:55 AM in the Church Cemetery Easter Breakfast immediately following the Sunrise Service in the Church Fellowship Hall (reservations not needed)
		Easter Sunday - April 12 Perk Me Up at 9:30 AM coffee, juice & snacks in the church fellowship hall Sunday School Classes at 10:00 AM We have a class for all ages! The Celebration of the Resurrection 11:00 AM Worship Service with Holy Communion and Reception of New Members in the Church Sanctuary "Let Us Keep the Feast" Acts 10:34-43 and John 20:1-18
