When you worship with us
at the
Early Service on Sunday morning
(8:30 AM), you can expect a small
congregation of 20-45 people. Although the service uses the same
bulletin, it is less formal than the 11:00 service. It is completed
around 9:25. Over the years this service has developed into a favorite
of a number of middle age couples and a number of older folks who enjoy the
early morning time. The early service is usually a quieter and more
meditative service. Recognizing that children bring special gifts to
the community of faith, we welcome all children in our worship service.
Music for the service is provided by
soloists and small ensembles from the Chancel Choir of the church.

at
the 11:00 Worship Service
on Sunday morning, you will be joined by others in a congregation of
160-200 people. They will be people of all different ages, marital
status, interests, abilities, vocations, and spiritual experiences.
Nearly half of the congregation will be folks who have come to be a part of
our church family in the last 15 years. Others will be able to trace
their family memberships back to the founding of the church in 1794.
There will be a large number of children and youth in the congregation.
The children will come to the front of the church in the middle of the
service for a few moments during our Time with Younger Christians. During
the service, a nursery is provided for infants and toddlers in rooms
205-207. We sing our music from a hymnbook that includes a generous
supply of both traditional hymns and modern hymns. The Chancel Choir sings each
Sunday and one or more of the children's choirs and handbell choirs also
sings and plays in the service. The hymns and choir music is
accompanied by organ or piano, with occasional use of percussion, trumpets,
flutes, trombones, etc. The music ranges from the earliest Hebrew
songs to hymns and anthems written in the last couple of years. All of
the music is sung with "live" accompaniment.
