Partnering with Fred L. Wilson Elementary School

The BPC-K Congregation "adopted" Fred L. Wilson Elementary School in Kannapolis.  We collect school supplies for the students a few times a year, including classroom tools and school uniforms.

Some of our congregation volunteer as tutors or lunchroom buddies.  BPC-K volunteers have attended the School's Open House Event in the fall to help direct students and parents to where they needed to be to get classroom assignments, bus assignments, or visit their assigned classrooms.  Our bright green "Feed My Sheep" t-shirts are a visible marker for people who have questions.

Several members of BPC-K went to the school and assembled cubby units the congregation had purchased for the first grade classrooms.  The teachers told us that this need was high on their list and they were most grateful to have the new aid for organizing the classrooms so that students' belongings could be easily accessible to the students.
